Infrastructure Bank CEO says it’s ready to play a role in national-interest projects
The Canada Infrastructure Bank is positioning itself to support Ottawa’s push for major nation-building projects, with CEO Ehren Cory stating, “We’re just one tool in the tool kit of that. We are far from the only part of the solution, but we’re looking forward to playing our part in meeting the challenge that we face as a country.” The Liberal government, fresh off a minority win, is prioritizing trade corridors and faster project approvals, as Prime Minister Mark Carney discusses infrastructure goals with premiers. While the bank awaits updated direction, Cory emphasized its role in high-risk infrastructure ventures, noting, “That’s the kind of shock absorber that the (infrastructure bank) can be.”
