Globe and Mail: Alberta plans to head pitch for new oil pipeline
Alberta is preparing to lead an application for a new oil pipeline to the B.C. coast, with the help of Enbridge Inc., South Bow Corp. and Trans Mountain Corp., according to sources who said the plan will be submitted to Ottawa’s new Major Projects Office. Premier Danielle Smith’s office confirmed she will announce “a new project that aims to strengthen Canada’s energy infrastructure and drive future economic growth,” while stressing the province is not seeking to own the pipeline but to “develop a plan and a route, and let private capital take over.”
