Poilievre tells Conservatives he will stay on and 'keep fighting' after Carney secures majority
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre defended his leadership at the Canada Strong and Free Network conference in Ottawa, vowing not to change who he is. “They say we should just join the club, accept the status quo, blend in. But that would mean leaving behind the record-smashing 8.3 million Canadians who voted for us,” he said. Conservatives must continue fighting Liberal policies on deficits, affordability and energy development, he said, adding Prime Minister Mark Carney is no different from former PM Justin Trudeau. “The allusion was that he would be more moderate, maybe even a bit conservative, but the reality is he hasn't changed the Trudeau agenda, he's accelerated it," Poilievre said. “Mark Carney is just another Liberal.”
