More details coming on student visa program
The Canadian government provided some more details on its plan to cap foreign student visa permits, including the distribution among provinces. The plan – which aims to keep foreign student numbers flat in 2024 - will limit new permits to 236,000 outside of exempted areas such as post-graduate studies.
Ontario will see a smaller cut than initially expected, as Bloomberg News reports.
