Canada needs to move faster on major energy, infrastructure projects after years of delays, CIBC head says

CIBC CEO Harry Culham says Canada must accelerate major energy and infrastructure projects or risk losing investment, export capacity and economic competitiveness. Speaking at Intersect in Calgary, Culham argues the country has spent more than a decade generating “more headlines than pipelines,” limiting access to global markets and weakening Canada’s position as a supplier of energy and critical resources. Continued delays could drive both financial capital and young Canadian workers to other countries, he says.
