Evan Solomon and Henna Virkkunen speak about the Canada-EU Digital Partnership MOU at the G7

The first Canada–EU Digital Partnership Council meeting was held, co-chaired by Minister Evan Solomon and EU Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen, during the G7 Industry, Digital and Technology Ministers’ Meeting in Montréal. Two memoranda of understanding were signed to strengthen collaboration on AI development, adoption, standards and digital credentials. Solomon and Virkkunen highlighted Canada and the EU’s shared commitment to innovation, digital sovereignty and economic resilience through research, trust-based digital economies, and technology cooperation.
